Creating inclusive and safe spaces for people of all identities and abilities

A second-generation settler of mixed Dutch and French ancestry, Miriam respectfully acknowledges that the land on which she lives, works, plays and grows is the unceded and traditional territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. She offers this acknowledgment as only one step in the process of reconciliation and recognizes her responsibility to continue learning what it means to show up as a vocal and active ally.
